Meridian Performance Appoints Daan Bemelmans as Strategic Advisor
Tech Business Strategist Joins Computer Vision Pioneer to Accelerate Global Go-to-Market and Partnership Strategy
Charlotte, NC and Breda, Netherlands – January 12, 2026 – Meridian Performance Systems, the computer vision company transforming mobile devices into precision measurement tools, today announced the appointment of Daan Bemelmans as Strategic Advisor. Bemelmans, a seasoned early-stage investor and Founding Partner at Strategic Catalyst and DJN Ventures, will guide Meridian’s commercial performance, fundraising strategy, and the bridging of high-growth opportunities between the European and U.S. markets.
Bemelmans joins Meridian on behalf of Strategic Catalysts, the advisory firm he co-manages. Working alongside his partner Joost Hoppenbrouwers, Bemelmans will serve as a "sparring partner" to the leadership team, focusing on clarifying strategic focus, sharpening performance metrics, and aligning incentives to translate complex technical milestones into executable commercial actions.
"Daan brings a rare combination of venture capital perspective and 'on-the-ground' operational experience that is essential for a company at our stage," said Josh Kohn, CEO and Co-founder of Meridian Performance Systems. "His bias for implementation over theory aligns perfectly with our culture. As we move faster from intent to impact, Daan’s expertise in structuring global partnerships and his track record of guiding startups to successful exits will be instrumental."
With over 15 years of experience at the intersection of technology, entertainment, and sports, Bemelmans has established himself as a specialist in scaling tech-driven businesses. In addition to his role at DJN Ventures and Strategic Catalysts, he has spent the last five years backing Dutch and U.S. startups from angel to seed stages. His background includes building and monetizing complex partnerships for leading global brands and supporting private equity investors with deal sourcing and strategic introductions.
"Meridian’s ability to turn standard mobile hardware into a high-precision diagnostic tool is a game-changer for B2B and B2B2C sectors," said Bemelmans. "My focus is on helping Josh, Matthias Farley, Dr. Cody Phillips, and the entire team turn that technical superiority into consistent, compounding results. We are here to ensure the strategy is simple, the execution is relentless, and the path to scale is clear."
The appointment of Bemelmans follows the recent addition of Mars Health & Wellness Global CFO Kaj van den Kieboom, as well as former NFL captain Berry Church, to the advisory board, further strengthening Meridian’s leadership as it expands its proprietary computer vision platform.
"Daan’s is direct and performance-obsessed," added Co-Founder Farley. "Having him alongside us amplifies our ability to navigate the fundraising landscape and secure the commercial partnerships that will define Meridian's next chapter."
